Come back to the room
A sensory grounding exercise, one small observation at a time.
Choose a small pause that feels right today. There’s no score, no perfect way to do it, and no need to finish.
Start with a breath ↓Breathe in gently for four. Breathe out slowly for six.
Follow the circle, if that feels comfortable.
Keep your breathing easy—there’s no need to hold or force it.
If you feel uncomfortable or lightheaded, stop and breathe normally.
You can keep your eyes open and skip anything that doesn’t feel comfortable.
A sensory grounding exercise, one small observation at a time.
Notice your jaw, shoulders and hands without forcing a stretch.
Shift your attention to ordinary sounds around you.
Take as long as you like. Skip any sense or movement that isn’t accessible or comfortable for you.
You don’t have to turn it into a plan. Start with a few words.
